Dear Friends,
First of all thank you very much for your
contribution to the Hans Valstar-Verbeek Foundation
in 2009. This has enabled us to continue the support
to our projects. During these economically difficult
times, there is a danger that the support to the
less fortunate of this world is forgotten.
Additionally there have been more debates this year
on the management of charity projects.
Simply handing out money, sometimes partly to the
wrong people, does not always have the desired
impact. Big charity organisations have been
criticised for their large overhead and poor
management of funds. Due to the small size of our
foundation we guarantee that every euro you donate
is spent fully and effectively on our projects.
The aim of the foundation remains unchanged: to
improve the future for underprivileged youth in Sri
Lanka through education, working together with local
people who care. Apart from our ongoing support to
primary schools, our intention is to also support
vocational schools. Learning a trade can provide
better opportunities for young people. Besides this
we also aim to increase the number of pupils at our
school for the mildly handicapped.
Below on this site you can find a report from our
last visit to our projects in November 2009. Soon
our plans for 2010 will be published there as well.
For these plans we need your continuing support!
Therefore we ask for your contribution again for
2010 to the Hans Valstar-Verbeek Foundation, don’t
forget the foundation is an ANBI (‘algemeen nut
beogende instelling’) therefore your donation, under
certain conditions, is tax deductible.
On behalf of the children in Sri Lanka, we wish you
a merry Christmas and a happy new year and many
thanks for your support.
With kind Regards,
The foundation board
